01 The story
Moldova National Youth Orchestra
In just a few years, the Moldova National Youth Orchestra (MNYO) has become a national brand for Moldova. Founded in Chișinău in 2011, it joined the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras only two years later, in 2013.
The orchestra has performed at many festivals, including “Vară Magică” (Magic Summer), the Festival of Youth Orchestras (2015, Kassel, Germany), the Classical Music Festival (2016, Kyiv, Ukraine) and Young Euro Classic (2017, Konzerthaus Berlin, Germany).

02 Mission
This orchestra exists to bring musicians together: those just starting out and those at other stages of their careers, playing side by side. Along the way it has built an innovative model of music education that combines the very best of the classical tradition with modern music.

The projects that define us
Of everything this vibrant, remarkably active orchestra has done, these projects best reflect the values of the musicians who created it: Rock Simfonic (2013 to present), Pop Simfonic (2014 to present), La La Play (2017 to present, with concerts in more than 50 rural venues) and Voices Moldova (a social inclusion project through music that has brought together more than 300 children from across the country).

Voices Moldova
A social inclusion project through music that has brought together more than 300 children from all over the country.
05 The conductor

Conductor
Andriano Marian
Born in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, Andriano Marian studied orchestral conducting in Romania. He trained first with maestro Petre Sbârcea at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj, then completed a master’s degree in the same discipline with maestro Horia Andreescu in Bucharest.
As a conductor he is drawn to experimental genres and styles. He has led orchestras in the leading concert halls of Chișinău, Bucharest and Berlin, working with musicians such as Valentina Nafornița, Ilian Gârneț and Elena Mîndru, to name just a few.
A central part of his artistic life is leading the Moldova National Youth Orchestra, with which he has carried out more than 450 projects in Moldova, Romania, Germany and Ukraine over more than 15 years.
“We started from the belief that music can bring people together and open doors for young artists. Today, Moldovan Youth Orchestra is more than an orchestra. It is a community, a story of passion, courage and the power of dreaming together.”
